Unit Name: Workshop Management and Transport Legislations

Description: The unit on workshop management and transport legislation provides a basic understanding of workshop management principles including workshop layout, vehicle utilization, scheduling and fare structure, personnel and quality management and aspects of transport legislation and motor vehicle acts. It covers vehicle maintenance and regulatory requirements. This unit helps in making optimum operational capability of vehicle workshops and fleets. The unit also focuses on the traffic laws and regulations being followed. It makes students understand the existing Traffic laws of the Land i.e... The LTA Act 1998 & Regulation 2000, and how an Office can use it to solve technical matters and associated issues brought up by the government entity, business houses, travelling public, vehicle owners and road users of the land.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the learner can: 1. Analyse and formulate vehicle workshop policies. 2. Apply the principles behind selecting vehicles and services that are \"fit for purpose\". 3. Demonstrate familiarity with data and information sources serving the motor vehicle industry. 4. Examine and understand the broad regulatory environment within which the motor vehicle sector operates. 5. Apply the principles of vehicle procurement to buy vehicles more efficiently. 6. Analyse and Apply the legislations governing the operation of vehicles and workshop in the country.
