Unit Name: Automotive Project - I

Description: This unit will enable students to critically reflect on the relationship between their academic and practical studies in an applied industrial context, to apply and extend their existing knowledge and skills, to test theories, identify and bridge gaps in their learning and to develop enhanced understanding and skills to enrich their continuing studies.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the learner can: 1. Apply existing engineering knowledge and skills and extend these through advanced independent learning beyond the taught syllabus. 2. Apply expertise in specialized & advanced engineering skills and mastery of some aspects of advanced engineering knowledge and application. 3. Reflect critically on the relationship between their academic study and working practice. 4. Collaborate and work with relevant industry (or similar bodies) and become an effective team member. 5. Demonstrate initiative and accept independence in decision making. 6. Prepare a substantial and well organized engineering report at a relevant professional level.
