Unit Name: Operating System Concepts

Description: This unit will introduce students to the fundamentals and components of modern operating systems and corresponding design trade-offs. The emphasize will be on the organization of the Unix/Linux-based operating systems and their responsibilities using class examples and lab experiments. The unit will also provide an overview of the computer hardware components as the foundation for the operating systems to operate. Additionally, students will get to learn some of the programmeming components of an operating systems.
