Unit Name: Introduction to C++

Description: This course has been designed for first year students who are interested in learning programmeming concepts, constructs, and logics. Major focus of this course will on problem solving and algorithms, and introduce concepts in programmeming, such as variables, control structures, functions, parameter passing, recursion, arrays, files and structures. Students will learn how to compile programmemes, trace errors, and debugging using modern integrated development environments (IDE) and if possible, on different operating systems. programmeming languages such as C++, can be used for this course. Mainly Linux platform will be used. An IDE that works on both the platforms (Windows & Linux) will be used.

Prerequisite: The student must have passed Year 13 or Equivalent

Prerequisite Sentence: Minimum Entry Requirement of the programme
