Unit Name: Special Topic in Communication and Media

Description: This course will be designed in relation to the coordinator's expertise and intersts. The aim of the course is to supplement the other core courses of the degree by developing a specific area. The course should develop students' competence in and understanding of a recognised field of media or communication studies. It should enhance their skills in: producing accurate and compelling texts that pesuade, inform or entertain public audiences; or, advance knowledge in media practices. Examples of special topics include Documentary Script Writing, Travel and Tourism Writing, Digital Developments in Film Production, The Future of Television, Crisis Management and Crisis Communication.

Prerequisite Sentence: Pass in Year 13, Certificate IV in Media and Journalism or equivalent.
