Description: This course offers students an understanding of the application of Data Mining concepts, techniques, and software utilized in the overall process of discovering knowledge in data.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to understand the following: 1. Demonstrate data mining functionalities. 2. Demonstrate data warehousing functionalities 3. Apply data preprocessing techniques - data cleaning, data integration and transformation, data reduction, discretization, and concept hierarchy generation 4. Utilise data mining primitives, languages, and system architectures 5. Apply analytical characterization techniques 6. Apply attribute relevance analysis 7. Apply a Data Mining Query language

Prerequisite: The student must have passed any 600 level

Prerequisite Sentence: Minimum Entry Requirement of the programme
