Unit Name: Management Information Systems

Description: This course offers students an understanding of the variety of technologies and applications relevant to modern business, know how Information Technology can add value to the firm, and then learn how to manage in an increasingly Information Technology intensive world. Management information System relates to the aspects of business using the technological solution.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to understand the following: 1. Evaluate information technologies relevancy to managerial activities and decision making today 2. Analyze the Information Systems ethics related to security issues 3. Analyze markets for IT – products, major vendors, factors affecting major IT-related decisions 4. Evaluate technical and management challenges relevant to contemporary business computing 5. Evaluate the business strategies that IT enables 6. Analyze environmental constraints that affect the use of IT
