Unit Name: Industrial Chemistry

Description: Industrial Chemistry is the development, optimization and monitoring of fundamental chemical processes used in industry for transforming raw materials and precursors into commercial products for society. In this unit a number of classes of substances which are of importance to society today are examined from several viewpoints: synthesis/extraction, chemical treatment, chemical and biological importance in relation to their structure and the social and environmental effects which have arisen from the introduction of these materials. Processes, whick are of industrial importance, form an integral part of the modulus.
