Description: The purpose of this unit is to enable the development of knowledge, understanding and skills required from studying and practice manual metal arc welding machine and procedure. Mechanical properties of metal during welding and classification of electrode.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Identify the difference between Alternative Current and Direct Current 2. Identify the polarity flow 3. Explain the four types of electrode coating 4. Explain the procedure of welding test. 5. Explain how welding defects occur during welding. 6. Control welding distortion. 7. Identify welding symbols used in Fabrication and welding field.
