Unit Name: Measurement and Marking Out

Description: The purpose of this unit is to enable the development of knowledge, understanding and skills required for measurement and marking out of metals during fabrication works. This will enable participants to understand and practice measuring tools with both linear and angular.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, you should be able to: 1. Define and make the linear measurement. 2. Demonstrate how to make angular measurements. 3. The correct use of measuring equipment. 4. Identify and select different types of data. 5. The need for templates. 6. What materials are used for templates. 7. The tools and instruments that are used for making templates.
