Unit Name: Oxy Acetylene Welding

Description: The purpose of this unit is to enable the development of knowledge and skills required for Oxy-acetylene welding and safety. Welding of alloys such as copper, bronze and cast iron using oxy-acetylene plants. Participant should also develop their skills of metal preheating procedures and purpose.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to explain: 1. The Oxy-acetylene plants, parts, and their function. 2. How to assemble parts of the plant and test for leaks. 3. The procedure of starting flames. 4. How Gas regulators work. 5. The types of Flames and its application 6. Individual faults and reasons. 7. The welding terminologies.
