Unit Name: Practicum

Description: This practicum unit compromises of 3 separate placements of 4 weeks each at an appropriate Aged Care or Rehabilitative Institution. These three placements are undertaken in Semester1 and 2, of the FNU academic calendar year. The students are assessed on elements of competency pertaining to the CEU10 Unit, of Competency as indicated on the Observation Checklist. In addition performance criteria for each other 10 units of competency may be assessed during this practicum. Also included is a separate performance questionnaire supporting these checklists? The observed activities on practicum contribute to one assessment task for each of these 10 units as detailed on each unit Delivery and Assessment Plan. Thus this practicum Assessment Pack comprises of 10 separate observation checklist for CEU401, CEU402, CEU403, CEU404, CEU405, CEU406, CEU407, CEU408, CEU409 and CEU410. Students are enrolled in the Certificate IV, under a flexible arrangement and the units of competency which require assessment will depend on the student?s current enrollment. NOTE: All students undertaking a practicum must be enrolled in CEU410 and must have either fully paid the fees or have made a plan for payment with the FNU Finance Department.
