Unit Name: Self-Medication in Ageing and in the Community

Description: This unit provides students witg skills and knowledge required to assist clients with medication in a home, community setting or residential facility. Assistance with self medication is provided in accordance with: 1. the relevant national legislation including the drugs and Poison's Act and Regulations 2. Relevant industry standard guidelines 3. Organizational polocies and procedures written inaccordance with the relevant legislation an reflecting the sccope of role and accountability for a level 3 worker.

Prerequisite Sentence: Completion of Year 12 or they may be admitted on the basis of maturity, work experience or prior learning.
