Description: This unit provides students with knowledge and skills required in Work effectively in the community sector also provides skills Workng effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workersand Supporting and effectively working with older people to maintain their independence. • This unit applies to workers in a residential or community context, or those in personal care or support services that work with older people. Work performed requires some discretion and judgement and is carried out under regular direct or indirect supervision.• This unit also describes the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including all races ethnicity, color around the world. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide individualized services in ways that support independence, as well as, physical and emotional wellbeing.

Learning Target Outcomes: 1. Identify and discuss on how to work effectively in the Community 2. Identify demonstrate the importance of working in the Community. 3. Describe and assess how to work effectively with personal care services in the Community 4. Describe assess on how to work with people from diverse social and cultural groups including their coworkers , races,ethnicity or color. 5. Discuss and demonstrate on individual care services provided to older people in the community,homes and residential care 6. Discuss and demonstrate importance of maintaining the and effectively working with older people to maintain their independence.

Prerequisite: Completion of Year 12 or they may be admitted on the basis of maturity, work experience or prior learning.
