Unit Name: Subsurface Investigation Methods

Description: Project supervision and quality inspection of materials used for construction are essential for any project\'s successful completion and sustainability. Generally, most infrastructure projects, such as roads, buildings etc., will be built on soil mass. Soil strength and compressibility estimation through laboratory and field testing of soils are essential. This course will expose you to sampling techniques, sample collection and storage, and laboratory and field testing of soils. You will thoroughly understand how to conduct subsoil exploration for a particular infrastructure project. And also, you will learn how to prepare bore log details and also help you how to understand the geotechnical parameters from the given soil report. You will use spreadsheets and IT tools for the preparation of soil profiles.
