Unit Name: Advanced Structural Design

Description: Engineers are required to perform modeling of RC building frames, load calculations with detailed emphasis on seismic loading, analysis and design using computer programmemes especially the structures like liquid retaining structures, earth retaining structures, gantry girders, steel railway truss bridges and steel railway plate girder bridges. This course will introduce you the design philosophy and principles of analysis of various loading as per the design standards. You will learn how to use standards to design the structures and also this course will expose you to work on design software relevant to structures.
