Unit Code: CEB811

Unit Name: Coastal Engineering

Description: Engineers are expected to analyse and design the costal structures such as seawalls, breakwaters and jetty structures. Engineers are required to know the design principles and problem solving of the following areas: principles of wave hydrodynamics, coastal processes, coastal sediment transport, coastal erosion and estimation of water wave forces on coastal structures. This course will enable you to learn principles of wave hydrodynamics, wave processes, sediment transport, coastal erosion, wave theories and estimation of wave forces on coastal structures. End of this course you will be able to design the seawall, breakwater and jetty structure.
