Description: Introduction of Statistics and its importance to Fisheries. Introduction to Sampling Methods Collection of data, classification and Tabulation. Diagrammatic & Graphical Representation Measures of Central Tendency. Test of Significance and Testing of Hypothesis. Level of Significance and Degree of Freedom. Steps involved in testing of hypothesis. Measure of Dispersion- Quartile, mean division and standard deviation. Coefficient of Variance, measure of skewness. Introduction to Correlation, regression, research methods: quantitative & qualitative (surveys, case studies, interviews, questionnaires) and Analysis of Variance.
