Unit Name: Oceanography & Coastal Resources

Description: This unit allows students to understand about coastal resources & oceanography; earth and the ocean basin; renewable resources; mangrove ecosystems; breeding habitats for shell fish and fin fish; Small-scale fisheries (pelagic, demersal and shrimps) by traditional/marginal fishing communities; Coastal tourism: beach resorts, parks within the coastal zone of Fiji Islands as per existing rules and regulations & impact of pollution on coastal resources.
