Unit Name: Computer Aided Drawing

Description: To provide the students with the knowledge and skills required for competency in communicating engineering information using technical graphics.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand the use of computer and the overview of engineering drawing in relation to workplace. 2. Utilize different line types, print letters with correct character heights and able to construct geometrical shapes using dividers, compass and ruler. 3. Draw orthographic drawings in first and third angle projection and isometric drawings with instruments to illustrate basic presentation techniques. 4. Start CAD and create a drawing using commands to create and edit a simple 2D Drawing. 5. Incorporate text, dimensions, tolerances, hatching to create 2D geometrical drawings, orthographic views and detail and assembly drawings.
