Unit Name: Alternative Drive 1

Description: This course enables students to acquire an in-depth knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles in-line with air quality, global warming, and a decrease in petroleum resources that are becoming the major threats to human beings. More and more stringent emissions and fuel consumption regulations are stimulating an interest in the development of safe, clean, and high-efficiency transportation.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Distinguish the Concepts of Automotive Laws Rules and Regulations. 2. Distinguish the Safety aspects on EV and Hybrid Vehicle. 3. Discuss the operations of High Voltage Battery (HV), Auxiliary Battery and other components systems. 4. Differentiate the operation and function of Electric & Hybrid Architecture with their different components. 5. Determine the operation, fault diagnosis, service and repair systematic procedures on electric & Hybrid Accidents.
