Unit Name: ICE Fuel Systems
Description: This course offers students an in-depth knowledge of automotive fuel systems. It also enables students to acquire an in depth practical knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical/electronic fuel system and associated components.
Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1.Describe the properties of combustion process in relation to, concepts of heat cycle, gas law and its effects on automotive engine components. 2. Explain operating principles and service requirements for various IC engines management systems. 3. Discuss fault diagnosis procedures required for fuel and electrical/electronic and associated systems. 4. State the requirements of the fuel delivery system and list the characteristics of types of injection. 5. Pre-plan trouble shooting methods on complex problems related to fuel system and take note of its legal requirements.
