Unit Name: ICE Technology

Description: This course will introduces the students to competently service, adjust and check ICE engines by repairs, replacement or modification. This course offers the students an understanding of the concept of compression ignition engines. Also enable students to acquire an in-depth knowledge of compression ignition engine components and their operating principles

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Describe the service and repair procedures for top end of internal combustion for SI and CI engines. 2. Describe the service and repair procedures for bottom end of internal combustion for SI and CI engines, discuss the heat cycles related to engine performance and combustion processes. 3. Explain service requirements of SI and CI internal combustion engine front end. 4. Explain the operation and purpose of intake and exhaust system. 5. Determine the engine mechanical problem diagnosis and latest trend and developments on IC engines and their systems in the automotive industry.
