Unit Name: Automotive Electrical & Electronics System

Description: This course offers students the chance to utilize the theory aspect into practical implication of Automotive Electrical Systems. The hands-on experience in identifying different components, its function will broaden student knowledge in understanding the very basic about this system, which will later help them to carry-out diagnosing of Electrical system faults. It will further enlighten on the importance of performing tasks according to the repair manual due to its constructional design with more electrical systems in the advanced automobile technology.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Relate the layout of the starting system and describe its operating procedure carry out basic repair works on starter motor. 2. Describe the layout of the charging system and describe its operation component function with circuit diagrams and carryout repairs of an alternator. 3. Interpret a bulb chart and describe the working procedure interior and exterior lighting systems and carryout repairs. 4. Discuss the early warning displays on the dashboard/instrumentation and their symbols with problems related. 5. Discuss automotive auxiliary component function /operation [horn, power door locks, windows, seats and wiper] with their simple circuit diagrams.
