Unit Name: Fundamentals of Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology

Description: The unit covers the role of animal nutrition in agriculture, the contribution of locally produced feed resources to livestock production, food nutrients and metabolism, the protein and amino acids components of livestock, the classification of feedstuffs, the nutrient contents of major feedstuffs, roughages and forages as livestock feed, grazing management and stocking density, the nutrition of poultry, feeding of the pigs, feed and nutrient requirements of pigs, the nutrition of dairy calves and replacements, the nutritional management of beef cattle, goats and sheep.
