Description: This module is to familiarise the student with the principles of radio receivers and transmitters.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to; a) Describe construction, operation, and characteristics of headphones, speakers and microphones b) Describe the principles of modulation and encoding used in radio systems. c) Describe the construction, operation, and characteristics of communication receivers. d) Describe the construction, operation, and characteristics of AM communication receivers. e) Describe the construction, operation, and characteristics of AM communication receivers. f) Describe the construction and operation of an AM radio transmitter.
