Unit Name: Digital Techniques 2

Description: This module is to familiarise the student with the characteristics of the fundamental building blocks of digital electronic circuits and systems. This will provide the student with the underpinning knowledge necessary carry out safe maintenance, servicing, testing and fault diagnosis on a wide range of aircraft digital systems.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to; a) define the terms, identify the circuit symbols, truth tables and describe the operation of flip flops. b) Describe the construction and operation of registers. c) describe the operation of various digital counters. d) describe the function and operation of encoders and decoders. e) describe the transmission of binary data.
