Unit Name: AC Theory and Power Systems 3

Description: This module provides the students with a thorough understanding of AC motors, DC signal devices, AC synchronous systems, Error detection and signal devices, Signal processing devices and Servomechanisms.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand; a) Describe the principles of operation and construction of single and polyphase AC motors. b) Describe the operation of D.C. Synchronous Systems and test them for serviceability. c) Describe the construction and operation of error detection devices. d) Describe the basic operation and uses of signal processing devices. e) Describe the operation of A.C. Synchronous systems and test them for serviceability. f) Describe and test Servomechanism systems.
