Unit Name: AC Theory and Power Systems 2

Description: This module provides the students with a thorough understanding of polyphase alternating current principles, concepts and laws. The module will also familiarise the student with polyphase generation and AC machines.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Describe the characteristics of polyphase alternating current principles. 2. Describe the configuration and characteristics of polyphase AC systems 3. Describe the principles of operation, construction and applications of polyphase AC generators. 4. Describe the operation of single and polyphase transformers 5. Describe the operation and application of passive filters. 6. Describe the operation and application of AC measuring instruments
