Description: This module aims to provide an introduction to the principles of EMF generation and the operation of DC motors and generators. Generator servicing and the use of Meters to measure current, voltage and resistance.
Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to : a) Describe the principles of generating an EMF and determine the generator\'s output concerning the polarity and amplitude of the induced EMF. b) Describe the construction and principles of operation of a DC generator c) Describe the construction, operating characteristics and applications for aircraft DC generators d) Perform generator servicing procedures e) Describe the principles of construction, operation and applications of DC motors. f) Use a basic meter movement to construct a simple: voltmeter/current meter/resistance meter
