Unit Name: Electrical Fundamentals DC Theory 2

Description: The purpose of this module is to introduce the trainee to the fundamental concepts of Inductance and Capacitance.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Describe the properties of a magnet and the molecular theory of magnetism. 2. Describe the electrical and magnetic properties of electromagnets. 3. Describe the principles of electromagnetic induction 4. Calculate circuit parameters using fundamental laws for inductance in DC circuits function. 5. Describe the principles of operation of capacitors, their uses and associated safety precautions 6. Describe the operation of capacitors in DC circuits. 7. Calculate circuit parameters using fundamental laws for capacitance in DC circuits
