Unit Name: Maintenance Practices Avionics 2

Description: This module develops in the student the skills and knowledge needed to terminate aircraft electrical hardware and carry out repairs and minor manufacturing tasks on electrical looms and harnesses.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: a) Inspect aircraft wiring looms, harnesses, plugs and terminations for defects and determine repair requirements. b) Prepare and terminate electrical cables to aircraft industry standards, using crimping techniques. c) Prepare and terminate electrical cables to aircraft industry standards, using wire wrapping techniques. d) State the necessity for and the methods used to achieve bonding, screening, earthing and static discharge. e) Demonstrate the basic techniques and precautions to be observed when using measuring instruments and test equipment.
