Unit Name: Aircraft Servicing & Handling

Description: This module develops in the student the skills and knowledge needed to carry out ground handling and servicing of operational aircraft.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Summarise aircraft manufacturers information to locate items on an aircraft engine or component. 2. Describe the various types of servicing performed on aircraft. 3. Describe the general construction and installation of aircraft equipment and furnishings. 4. Demonstrate procedures necessary during maintenance for the safe handling of an aircraft. 5. Demonstrate the weighing of an aircraft, including completion of the required documentation 6. Identify the various forms of corrosion. 7. Perform a pre-flight / turnaround / after-flight inspection of an undercarriage system. 8. Perform a pre-flight / turnaround /after-flight inspection of aircraft wheels or tyres. 9. Perform a pre-flight / turnaround /after-flight inspection of aircraft brakes. 10. Perform a pre-flight / turnaround /after-flight inspection of aircraft lubrication and or oil system. 11. Inspect engine cowls and drains.
