Unit Name: Electrical Funds DC Theory 1

Description: The purpose of this module is to provide an introduction to the principles and applications of electricity. The module also introduces the student to the usage of basic meters and their applications.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this module, students will have a clear understanding of ; 1. Dangers associated with electrical equipment and aircraft installations and determine applicable safety procedures to be followed. 2. The structure and distribution of electrical charges within matter. 3. Static Electricity and Conduction. 4. Definitions of basic electrical terminology. 5. The use of test equipment to measure voltage, current and resistance. 6. The different methods of producing an EMF and their practical aircraft applications. 7. The electrical resistance, identify resistors and describe their characteristics. 8. The relationship between voltage, current and resistance, Calculation of circuit parameters using fundamental laws for DC circuits.
