Description: This unit will introduce the students to the important concepts of Drainage and Irrigation. The students will gain understanding on the correct methods of field drainage and the selection and installation of appropriate irrigation systems in relation to soil and crop type. Engineering technologists should be able to design and install a portable sprinkler irrigation system and offer advice on duration and frequency of irrigation.
