Unit Name: Farm Agro-ecosystem Practice B

Description: This unit will enable students to develop a better understanding about integrated farming and sustainable agriculture. It will cover all areas of a farming business based on informed management processes. It will also expose students to different farming tools and their applications and modern farming technologies. Improved appreciation of traditional practices in animal production, crop production and aquaculture.

Learning Target Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Identify and evaluate the sustainability and impact of farming in the solution of well-defined problems in societal and environmental contexts. 2. Identify the basic knowledge and skills in understanding the interrelationships between the factors of production in farming and resource commodities necessary to achieve an efficient production system for improved and sustainable agriculture. 3. Contributes constructively to team decision-making, and earns the trust and confidence of other team members. 4. Comprehends the importance of engaging with a professional community, learning from its knowledge and standards. 5. Demonstrate and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in establishing and running an efficient productive and sustainable farm enterprise.
