Unit Name: Agriculture Extension and Ethics

Description: This course will enable students to understand the extension teaching, learning process, principles of learning, extension programmeme planning, designing rural development programmemes and social learning. Students will be able to comprehend Communication problems in extension and the meaning of the concepts of teaching, learning and delivery of better extension service. Also, the course will take the students on the rudiments of analysing Communication problems in extension and the meaning of the concepts of teaching, learning and motivation. Furthermore, the students will be able to understand the core fundamentals of adult learning that can be used in improving extension services in Fiji. The second half of the semester introduces students to the concept of work ethics in agriculture. Students are familiarise with the law and governance of work ethics and important controversial issues in agriculture. Importance of religion and moral values has been also emphasised to enable students to affectionally apply ethics in future work places.
