Unit Name: Construction Detailing

Description: This unit offers learners the opportunity to grasp various methods of connection, joining, securing and tie down methods using steel jointers, brackets and steel connectors, timber joints to enable the structural integrity and soundness. Students learn the different connection available to tie down wall and roof members into the body of the main building structure with notation describing the process of connectivity and tie downs to Structural Engineers approvals. Depending on the finish required to the roof framing members, the students learn how to conceal joints that gives aesthetics looks and high class finishes. Students will learn the various bolts, brackets, connectors, joints available to assemble joints together using right technical names and structuring of details drawings for submission to council.
