Unit Name: Accommodation Management

Description: The operation of the Tourism and Hospitality industry is highly complex. This course introduces students to the systems and procedures required for Housekeeping and Accommodation Operations. It provides an overview of the functions and supervisory aspects of the housekeeping and accommodation department. The key issues included in this course are the different types of accommodation available, operational planning and procedures, furniture and fixtures, housekeeping equipment, linen and laundry, maintenance, leisure facilities, security aspects and energy and environmental management. Thus, the aim of the course is to comprehend via analysis and evaluation the operational and managerial requirements of managing commercial hotel accommodation. It explains the concepts clearly and provides ample opportcoursey for practice of the techniques.
