Unit Name: Negotiation, Procurement and Contract Management

Description: The aim of this Course is to introduce students to the characteristics of negotiation and help them in managing the project procurement process. The Course commences with explaining the nature of negotiation, and it looks at identifying possible negotiation outcomes and steps of the negotiation process. The Course also covers different behavioral styles and techniques for successful negotiation, plans to improve negotiation skills, third party intervention, communication, persuasion, trust and ethics in negotiation. Further, the Course also covers topics including role of power in negotiation, project procurement management and project risk management. Overall, the Course provides students with a theoretical understanding and practical skills in negotiation, procurement and contract management in addition to developing the relevant skills needed for negotiation and procurement.
