Unit Name: Strategic Management Accounting

Description: The aim of this course is to develop students understanding on how accounting data can be interpreted and used by management in planning and controlling business activities, across a range of areas including strategic, marketing, human resource management, operations management and organizational behaviour issues. It provides a thorough grounding in the thinking about the roles of management accounting in organizations, and then examines the broader and complex roles of managers towards organizations growth and success. The course intends to describe the leading ?edge developments in management and management accounting practices. It is expected that this course would provide students with the analytical ability to understand the issue of supply chain management and performance measurement concepts, with an understanding of the processes and technologies to enhance shareholder and customer value, thus becoming more a part of the process management and less a part of the practice of accounting.
