Unit Name: Accounting Principles

Description: Accounting is a dynamic and a practical discipline. This unit aims to introduce students to basic role accounting plays in the economy. It provides an overview of nature, scope and environment of accounting and how accounting data are influenced by changes in the commercial environment. It enables the student to learn about the components covered in basic financial statements. It also introduces petty cash, basic accounting concepts, principles and theories in the real business environment.
