Unit Name: Panel Workshop Health and Safety

Description: This course is designed to introduce student?s practice workshop safety procedures and demonstrate the use of safety equipment. The course will also give opportunity to students to acquire the necessary skills to be able to identify hazards and assess risk in their workplaces and also develop control measures that are effective to eliminate or reduce the risk to an acceptable level.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. List the types of dangers and accidents common to a collision repair facility. 2. Explain how to avoid Panel workshop accidents and outline the control measures needed when working with hazardous substances. 3. Understand the environmental risks and responsibilities associated with the automotive Body repairs Industry. 4. Describe safety practices designed to avoid fire explosions. 5. Identify correct hand and power tools and their use for a particular work in the panel shop.
