Programme Description | The Preparatory Course for Able Seafarer Engine is based on the STCW, 1978 Convention Manila Amendments Section A-III/5, and Table A-III/5. The trainees who successfully complete the program are eligible to appear for the Certificate of Competency of an Able Seafarer Engine Examination conducted by the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji. The purpose of this course is to provide the participant the knowledge, skills and understanding to the trainees to successfully achieve the Certificate of Competency of an Able Seafarer Engine Examination conducted by the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji. |
Minimum Requirement | • Shall not be less than 18 years of age, at the time of closing of applications • Hold Engine Room Rating Certificate. • Approved Sea-time Assessment Form (page 2 – Declaration of Sea Service of MSAF Form No. 4 • Medical certificate from an MSAF approved doctor that includes eyesight test. |
