The purpose of this course is to provide the participants who have the qualifying sea service update knowledge on IMO new requirements, taken place during the last 05 years and issue a new certificate or endorse the existing certificate to comply with requirements the STCW78’ Convention as amended.
These certificates enable the candidates to update their Certificate of Competency (Management Level) issued under STCW 2010 regulations by the Pacific Centre for Maritime Studies (PCMS), in place of a respective STCW ‘95 certificate issued earlier by the MSAF, which had been made invalid due to the fact that it was issued five years ago.

•	If seafarers DO NOT HAVE approved seagoing service performing functions appropriate to the certificate they hold, for a period of at least:
a)	12 months in total during the preceding 5 years before application then;
b)	Complete a full approved Refresher and Updating course for their grade of certificate.
