| Programme Description | Boat masters is a preparatory course for Boat Master License issued by Fiji Maritime Authority (MSAF). Boat master can operate a boat 20 GT or less OR (15m or less open boat). The operator with a Boat Master’s License has to ensure that the vessel complies with applicable rules and regulations at all times. Among other things, this means that the boat must have all the necessary certificates. The operator also has to ensure that legislative requirements concerning the safety of life and prevention of pollution followed. |
| Minimum Requirement | • Applicant shall not be less than the minimum age of 16 years of age. Note: Affidavit of Parental Consent Form to be submitted by the student/ parent/ guardian for student who is 16 years or between 16 to 18 years of age. • Hold valid Basic Sea Safety – Operate Small Boats Certificate. |
