Programme Description
The course has been developed in accordance with the requirement of the final act of the International Conference Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personal 1995. (STCW-F 95.)
The syllabus for this certificate was adopted, from the STCW- F 95 Resolution 4 Training of deck hands on board fishing vessels of 24 meters and over 
The focus of this syllabus is on the safe operation of vessels with one unit being fisheries-specific. Although the syllabus is intended for the certification of fishing vessel crews, much of the content is common to the operation of other types of vessel.

Minimum Requirement
•	The Applicant shall not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 22 years old at the time of closing applications.
•	Attained Basic Sea Safety Certificate.
        a)	Personal Survival Techniques. Section A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code
        b)	Elementary First Aid. Section A-VI/1-3 of the STCW Code
        c)	Fire Prevention and Firefighting. Section A-VI/1-2 of the STCW Code
        d)	Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities Section A-VI/1, table A-VI/1-4
•	Pass in Year 10 (Form 4) or equivalent.
