This course covers the mandatory minimum requirements as set out under Regulation II/5, Sec. A-II/5 and Table A-II/5 of STCW ’78 Convention, as amended. The course learning objective is in accordance with the requirements of knowledge, understanding and proficiency to perform the functions at the support level as stated in Table A-II/5.
The participant who successfully complete the course are eligible to appear for the Certificate of Competency of ratings as Able Seafarer Deck examination conducted by the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF).

•	The candidate shall not be less than 18 years of age.
•	Hold valid Deck Watch Rating Certificate with 12 months of seagoing experience; OR
•	Hold valid Basic Safety Training Certificate with 18 months of seagoing experience.
