Programme Description
The Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Emergency Nursing) programme is a one-year programme on a full time mode and two years’ part-time mode. It is taught at Level 8 under Fiji Qualifications Framework (FQF) and the University Qualification Framework concurrently over two semesters with a total of 120 credit points. 
The programme is delivered largely at the emergency departments thus, requires a student to be based at the Emergency Department at the time of study. The Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Emergency Nursing) is designed to meet the needs of the nurses working in the emergency departments in Fiji and the region to upgrade their skills and knowledge

Minimum Requirement
•	Bachelor of Nursing with the GPA of 3.0 or equivalent from a recognized institution and a minimum of three years’ work experience as a nurse after graduation and
•	One year of recent experiences within the emergency department or outpatient department that receives emergency cases.
•	Students who do not meet the GPA of 3.0 in Bachelor’s degree may be allowed entry based on their work experience in emergency nursing and a letter of recommendations from their immediate supervisor. 
•	Applicants who do not have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, but who are able to demonstrate ability to succeed on the basis of maturity, work experience, or prior learning may also apply specifically, registered nurses with three (3) years of general nursing experience and recent experience in outpatient department that receives emergency case prior to enrollment.
•	 Applicants must be registered with the Fiji Nursing Council (FNC) with their current license to practice prior to the commencement of the academic year.
