The programme is intended to enhance knowledge and skills in literature, translation and writing for careers in education, journalism and culture, and to prepare students to undertake higher research degrees in Literary Studies

Upon completion of this programme, students can be expected to have gained skills of analysis, research, argument and writing, through the preparation of assignments, and be prepared to undertake a higher research degree.
Also increase their knowledge of literary history and literary genres and have acquired an introduction to the skills of creative writing and translation, and have acquired knowledge of the rhetorical techniques used by writers to present ideas and to persuade an audience. 

Grade Point Average of 3.0 and above with Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Language or Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalents from other recognized universities. Students with other tertiary qualifications and mature age students to be assessed on an individual basis.
